The ARL Leadership Fellows participated in their third and final strategic issues institute March 29–April 2, 2015. The libraries at the University of Guelph and the University of Waterloo and their directors Rebecca Graham and Mark Haslett jointly hosted the institute.

With an overall theme of “The Power of Partnerships” the ARL fellows engaged in conversations with many high-level administrators on both campuses, including Feridun Hamdullahpur, president and vice-chancellor at Waterloo, and his counterpart at Guelph, Franco Vaccarino. The institute featured several interactive workshops, including one on work/life balance facilitated by Katrina Di Gravio, director of organizational health development at Waterloo, and consultant DeEtta Jones. Fellows from the host institutions also led a case-study exercise on the topic of consortial partnerships. The rich agenda was complemented by opportunities for fellowship and networking.

The 2013–2015 class of ARL Leadership Fellows will conclude their 18-month experience during the ARL Membership Meeting in Berkeley, California, later this month.
