Lorraine Haricombe Named Vice Provost and Director of Libraries at University of Texas at Austin

The University of Texas (UT) at Austin has appointed Lorraine J. Haricombe as vice provost and director of libraries, effective February 1, 2015. Haricombe currently serves as dean of libraries at the University of Kansas, a position she has held since August 1, 2006. She also has served for the past seven years as a mentor to mid-career librarians from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as part of the ARL Leadership & Career Development Program (LCDP). As vice provost and director of libraries at UT Austin, Haricombe will succeed Fred Heath, who retired on August 31, 2014, after 11 years in the position.
