A small number of ARL documents are restricted to ARL member library representatives and are made available via a Google-based ARL Directors' Site. Each ARL library director can access this members-only content with her or his individual Google account username and password.

Setting up Your Google Account

To access the Google-based ARL Directors' Site, you will need a Google account that is tied to your institutional e-mail address.

If you already have a Google account

You will need to ensure that your institutional e-mail address is associated with your Google account. To do this:

1. Sign in to your account on the Google Accounts homepage.
2. Identify the e-mail address(es) associated with your account. If your institutional e-mail address is not listed, please continue with steps 3 through 6.
3. Click "Edit" next to "Email addresses".
4. Add your institutional e-mail address in the "Add an additional email address" field.
5. Click "Save".
6. You should then receive a message at your institutional e-mail address containing a verification link. Click the link so you can begin signing in to your Google account with your institutional e-mail address.

If you do not have a Google account

You will need to create a new Google account. To do this:

1. Visit the Google Account creation page.
2. Enter your institutional e-mail address.
3. Choose a password.
4. Complete the rest of the form and click "I accept. Create my account."
5. You should then receive a message at your institutional e-mail address containing a verification link. Click the link so you can begin signing in to your Google account with your institutional e-mail address.

Logging in to the ARL Members-Only Site

All ARL member library representatives receive an e-mail inviting them to join the ARL Directors' Site. Follow these three steps to log into the members-only site on or after April 1, 2011:

1.    Browse to http://directors.arl.org/ and click “Sign in with a different account”.

2.    Enter your institutional e-mail address on the resulting page and click "Go".

3.    On the next page, the e-mail field should be pre-populated with your address. Now simply enter your Google account password and click "Sign in". Be sure to check the "Stay signed in" box to avoid having to enter your credentials again during subsequent visits.
