Library Assessment Seminar and LibQUAL+® Share Fair at Lund University (Sweden)

Event Date: September 20, 2012

Washington, DC—Lund University Libraries and the Association of Research Libraries enthusiastically invite you to contribute to the Library Assessment Seminar and LibQUAL+® Share Fair program to be held at Lund University, Sweden, on Thursday, September 20, 2012.

Proposal submission and registration is now closed.

The morning program will feature speakers from the US and the UK who will speak on how organizational strategy and metrics work together. They will also highlight the contributions of LibQUAL+® to library assessment and planning activities in libraries.

In the afternoon the Share Fair—an informal, science-fair-style gathering—will feature brief presentations/poster sessions by current and past LibQUAL+® survey participants highlighting examples of quantitative and qualitative analysis available from survey results and marketing ideas. Strategy plans from various libraries and their relation to metrics are also welcome at the Share Fair.

This event offers a great opportunity to learn about the most strategic approaches to library performance measurement and metrics and how LibQUAL+® enhances these efforts. Our goal is to see a large number of Scandinavian libraries participate actively in this event; everyone is welcome and encouraged to contribute from other areas as well.

Resources for Participants

With questions regarding posters and their exposure, please contact Kristina.Holmin@fysik.lu.se. If you wish to have your presentation slides installed before the event, please send them to Kristina as well.

LibQUAL+® is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality. These services are offered to the international library community by the Association of Research Libraries. The program’s centerpiece is a rigorously tested web-based survey paired with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library. This assessment protocol has been used by more than 1,200 libraries across the globe since 2000. LibQUAL+® is on the web at http://www.libqual.org/.

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is a nonprofit organization of 126 research libraries in the US and Canada.
