LibQUAL+® Offers Workshops and Consultations at ALA Midwinter Meeting, Philadelphia, January 2008
Washington DC—The LibQUAL+® team is pleased to offer the following workshops and consultations, scheduled in conjunction with the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia, January 2008.
LibQUAL+®: Survey Introduction
This session provides both new and prospective LibQUAL+® survey administrators with information on the project’s origins and development, as well as practical information essential for getting started with the survey at your library. A buffet breakfast will be served.
Recommended for all first-time survey administrators.

LibQUAL+®: Survey Administration
This session provides all registered LibQUAL+® survey administrators with practical information for running the survey at your library, including: articulating survey objectives/desired outcomes, creating an assessment group or team, marketing your survey, navigating the LibQUAL+® online system (preferences, customization, monitoring survey progress), and obtaining results. A buffet breakfast will be served.
Recommended for both first-time and repeat survey administrators.

LibQUAL+®: Survey Results
This session will (a) provide an overview of the latest round of LibQUAL+® participation, (b) report the latest research, (c) demonstrate best practices in using the results, and (d) engage participants in interpreting their institutional notebooks. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions related to the results, provide feedback on their survey experience, learn from other participants, and discuss how to put LibQUAL+® results into action. Please bring your results notebooks if you have specific questions regarding your results.
Recommended for library staff who participated in the 2007 LibQUAL+® survey.

Using LibQUAL+® Effectively
This workshop will enable staff responsible for administering the LibQUAL+® survey to develop work plans that they can apply in their libraries in order to: perform some simple analyses of the quantitative and qualitative results data, present the results visually, make comparisons, identify what is actionable, organize their colleagues and committees to work with LibQUAL+®, present the results effectively to different stakeholders, utilize data to target areas for improvement, and develop a process of continuous assessment. A buffet breakfast and lunch will be served.

LibQUAL+® is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality. These services are offered to the library community by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). The program’s centerpiece is a rigorously tested Web-based survey bundled with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library.
