Washington DC—The LibQUAL+® Results meeting on January 14, 2008, at the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia will feature a best-practices presentation by the West Virginia University (WVU) Libraries.
Frances O’Brien, Dean of WVU Libraries, worked with WVU Marketing Professor Paula Bone, recipient of the WVU Foundation Outstanding Teachers award, to follow-up on LibQUAL+® results. Professor Bone and her undergraduate students majoring in marketing reviewed three years of LibQUAL+® data for a report to the library administration. The students, Amanda Darby, Ryan D’Souza, Dave Hughes, and Angela Julien, will present their findings and recommendations from an analysis of the WVU Libraries 2003, 2005, and 2007 LibQUAL+® study. Their presentation will examine the qualitative information collected in the form of comments and the quantitative information collected in the form of survey responses, as well as identify trends and top priorities using gap analysis and performance matrices.
This session is aimed at library staff who participated in the 2007 LibQUAL+® survey.
In addition to featuring the WVU Libraries best-practices presentation, the LibQUAL+® Results meeting will:
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions related to the results, provide feedback on their survey experience, learn from other participants, and discuss how to put LibQUAL+® results into action. Please bring your results notebooks if you have specific questions regarding your results.

LibQUAL+® is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality. These services are offered to the library community by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). The program’s centerpiece is a rigorously tested Web-based survey bundled with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library. LibQUAL+® is located on the Web at http://www.libqual.org/.
