LibQUAL+® Releases 2007 Survey Publications

Washington DC—Results from two groups participating in the spring 2007 LibQUAL+® survey are now available for purchase:

  1. The LibQUAL+® Canada results notebook includes data from 3 government institutions, 45 colleges/universities, and 5 community colleges. Of the 53 participating institutions, 10 offered dual-language surveys and 9 offered their surveys only in French. French-language respondents gave higher scores for perceived service quality in Affect of Service, Information Control, and Library as Place than did other respondents.

Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), Conférence des recteurs et des principaux des universités du Québec (CREPUQ), and Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) consortia institutions are represented in the LibQUAL+® Canada results notebook. Learn more about the LibQUAL+® Canada group at http://library.queensu.ca/webir/canlibqual/carl-libqual.htm.
  2. The Maine URSUS Libraries results notebook includes data from 13 institutions: 1 academic law, 8 college/university, 2 public, and 2 state libraries. All 13 institutions were first-time participants.

The cost per notebook is $150, plus shipping and handling. Orders are accepted via e-mail libqual@arl.org.

Additional LibQUAL+® group notebooks available for purchase are listed in the ARL Publications 2007 catalog [PDF].

Registration is now open for the 2008 LibQUAL+® survey; please visit the LibQUAL+® Web site for more information.

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is a nonprofit organization of 123 research libraries in North America. Its mission is to influence the changing environment of scholarly communication and the public policies that affect research libraries and the diverse communities they serve. ARL pursues this mission by advancing the goals of its member research libraries, providing leadership in public and information policy to the scholarly and higher education communities, fostering the exchange of ideas and expertise, and shaping a future environment that leverages its interests with those of allied organizations. ARL is located on the Web at http://www.arl.org/.

LibQUAL+® is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality. These services are offered to the library community by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). The program’s centerpiece is a rigorously tested Web-based survey bundled with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library. LibQUAL+® is located on the Web at http://www.libqual.org/.
