ARL Statistics Webcast and Chat History Now Available
Washington DC—The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Statistics webcast presented on December 4 is now available on the ARL Statistics Web site, along with the chat history and PowerPoint slides. Visit http://www.arl.org/stats/annualsurveys/arlstats/07statmail.shtml.
Over 130 representatives from ARL member libraries participated in the event, which was led by Martha Kyrillidou, Director, ARL Statistics and Service Quality Programs; Julia Blixrud, Assistant Executive Director, External Relations, ARL; and Mark Young, ARL Statistics Liaison.
The webcast explained and answered questions about the ARL Statistics data-collection process for the 2006–07 survey. Topics included:
- Things to watch for when collecting and reporting annual data
- Deliverables received from ARL
- Entering data in the ARL Statistics online forms
- Issues to pay attention to during data verification
- Recent revisions to the ARL Statistics definitions
- ARL Statistics electronic edition
The ARL Statistics team encourages all ARL libraries’ survey coordinators to view the webcast and chat history, as there are changes to both the online data-entry form and the method of calculating serials collections for the ARL Statistics.
