This page is intended as a resource for libraries as they respond to institutional policies regarding the H1N1 flu virus. As the Fall 2009 term begins on many campuses, issues of health and illness prevention are at the forefront of campus-wide discussion. In establishing policies and practices to prevent and accommodate the spread of this illness, it is important to understand how the interdependencies between libraries and library services--locally, state-wide and nationally--may be impacted.
The US Department of Education and Health and Human Services released detailed guidelines (PDF) to help decrease the spread of flu among students, faculty, and staff. In addition, the CDC has created a fact sheet intended to educate the public about preventing and treating H1N1 and other flu viruses.
