Shared Legal Capability

Share Share   Print

The Shared Legal Capability (SLC) was established in 1995 by five major library associations in response to a growing focus on copyright and intellectual property issues in the national and international arenas. SLC seeks to ensure a unified voice and common strategy for the library community in responding to and developing proposals to amend copyright law and policy for the digital environment.

SLC collaborates closely with a number of other organizations and alliances including the Digital Future Coalition and the National Humanities Alliance. The members of the SLC are:

American Association of Law Libraries (AALL)
American Library Association (ALA)
Association of Research Libraries (ARL)
Medical Library Association (MLA)
Special Libraries Association (SLA)
