Share Share   Print

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act became law in October 1998. There are a number of provisions in this legislation of significant importance to research libraries and education institutions. In particular, the law includes key provisions relating to fair use, online service provider liability, preservation, copyright management information, and distance education. This briefing notebook on DMCA includes these pertinent sections of the law and legal analysis that can assist institutions in understanding the law and possible DMCA implementation strategies.
