Description

Seeking innovative, forward-looking librarian to develop and implement structure and process for measuring effectiveness of library services. Reporting to Associate Dean for Library Academic Services provides leadership and vision for IUB Libraries’ assessment initiatives to support data-informed decision making related to services, collections, technology, facilities; engages staff throughout libraries to build culture ensuring assessment, measurement, and analyses are integral parts of Libraries’ programs. Position works closely with library departments and units to analyze and report assessment data; represents the libraries in campus, regional and national assessment efforts; evaluates effectiveness of library assessment efforts; recommends ways to strengthen assessment and evaluation program.

Qualifications:
Required: Master’s degree in library or information science or related experience and education; strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills and strong commitment to service excellence; understanding of value of assessment in improving services in customer-centered enterprise; demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative assessment methodologies; expertise in relevant software applications, such as EXCEL, SPSS; demonstrated oral communication skills with the ability to be effective, active listener and facilitator; demonstrated written communication skills with ability to summarize and present results of assessment activities effectively to diverse audiences; demonstrated ability to work successfully in team environment and individually; ability to meet requirements of tenure-track librarian position, among other required qualifications.

Preferred: relevant experience in academic or research library strongly preferred; experience working with library specific assessment tools in academic or research library. Salary and benefits: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and education.
