DEAN, ALBERTSONS LIBRARY Boise State University seeks a leader to guide the Albertsons Library in its mission as a metropolitan research university. The dean provides leadership and advocacy for articulating a strategic digital age vision for the Library working with internal and external partners and friends and is expected to play a key role in budgeted initiatives for technology innovation at the University. The ideal candidate has a background in delivering library services to a wide range of patrons with diverse needs and a strong commitment to integrating library services with the research and academic needs of the University. Salary is competitive and start date is negotiable. Qualifications Required: • MLS from an ALA-accredited institution (a second graduate degree is preferred) • Evidence of excellence in library management • Record of scholarly achievement and publication • Proven record of managing digital initiatives • Experience in instructional technology and the delivery of library services to remote users • Broad understanding of current trends in information science • Experience in collaborating effectively with internal and external constituencies • Demonstrated ability to maximize internal and external resources University: Boise State (www.boisestate.edu) is a public comprehensive master’s institution with over 19,000 students that offers select doctoral programs. The University is the largest institution in the Idaho system of higher education, and consists of seven colleges with over 2,000 faculty and staff. Located in Boise, the State capital (www.boisechamber.org), the metropolitan population is approximately 620,000. Albertsons Library: The completely wireless connected Albertsons Library is a state-of-the-art full-service 200,000 net square feet academic library with a mission to actively participate in learning, teaching, and research. Offering a variety of study space and more than 800,000 books, the Library provides access to more than 88,000 periodicals, newspapers, and serials, the vast majority in online format. The Library incorporates over 300 databases, including Web of Science, JSTOR, Academic Search Premier, and Science Direct. The Dean of Library supervises 76 staff, is responsible for the management and operation of all aspects of the Library, and reports directly to the provost.
