Description
The University of California, Irvine Libraries seeks an innovative, creative, flexible, and knowledgeable leader to join our organization as Assistant University Librarian (AUL) for Administrative Services. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic staff in developing an excellent research library for a university ranked nationally among the best. The AUL has an unusual opportunity to actively participate in shaping the quality and character of the Libraries during a time of change, challenges, and new opportunities.
Reporting to the University Librarian, the AUL for Administrative Services is the senior administrator responsible for ensuring effective and efficient utilization of the financial, facilities, and human resources of the UCI Libraries and directs the Libraries’ planning, assessment, and research efforts. In close collaboration with the University Librarian, the AUL coordinates the Libraries’ strategic planning and organizational development programs. The AUL for Administrative Services provides leadership within the Libraries for human resources management, employee relations, and staff development and is responsible for ensuring that excellent research, analysis, planning, measurement, and reporting are integral parts of all programs and services in the UCI Libraries. As a member of the UCI Libraries’ Leadership Council, the senior management team for the Libraries, the AUL for Administrative Services shares responsibility library-wide for collaborative, innovative, and excellent leadership, management, and decision-making; ensures organizational effectiveness and efficiency; and shares in library-wide responsibilities for resource management and development of library policies.
The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University has an excellent benefits program including leave policies, retirement system, and insurance plans which equal approximately 40% of salary.
