Building on Success:
Sharing What We're Learning

An event for participants in the Institute on Scholarly Communication
Hosted by the University of Washington

January 19, 2007
9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Seattle, Washington

This full day event will offer participants in the first two offerings of the Institute on Scholarly Communication an opportunity to come together to share information about the work they have been doing, to talk as a community about common challenges, and to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

Attendees will be asked to create and share a one-page statement describing their main projects and programs—post institute, highlighting what they have learned, and indicating the challenges on which they would most like to consult with tier colleagues.

Building on Success will offer a mixed program of speakers on current topics, faculty panelists, problem solving clinics, and a Share Fair. A catered lunch is included and the meeting concludes with a dessert reception.

Institutional teams are encouraged to contribute to the Share Fair. If you or your team jointly wish to present some of your work at the Share fair, there will be a sign-up form asking you to submit a one-paragraph description of what you would like to share. Sharing presentations could include materials or web resources developed, descriptions of activities or events, or anything else you would be willing to share, explain, and discuss with your colleagues.

All participating institutions are expect to submit a "Building on Success" report prior to attending the meeting.
