The purpose of this webinar is to begin the next phase of scholarly communication program planning with an overview of where we are. Before the session, registrants are invited to complete a positive interview with another registrant, designed to elicit a set of stories about successes in scholarly programming to date. The session will begin with a brief overview of where we are in the overall transition in scholarly communication. A series of speakers will present several implementations of comprehensive scholarly communication programs, followed by time for questions and discussion.
Learning Outcomes
- Participants will have a broader and deeper understanding of current trends and initiatives in scholarly communication from an overall program perspective, and a sense of where their library fits in, along with evaluation of local strengths on which to build the next phase of scholarly communication program planning.
- Program assessment and planning: participants will have an opportunity to discuss and assess their current programs and identify opportunities for building on current successes.
- Participants will have an increased sense of belonging to a broader community, mutual interests in transforming scholarly communication, as well as expanded contacts.
