Association of Research Libraries (ARL®)

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) have revised their Public Access Policy. Effective April 7, 2008, the current policy requires investigators to deposit their articles stemming from NIH funding in PubMed Central.

To help research libraries and universities navigate working with the new policy, ARL has created a Web-based guide and offers an archived version of an informational webcast held on March 7, 2008.

SPARC, Science Commons, and ARL have jointly released a white paper to help university and medical school administrators ensure their institutions reserve the necessary rights for articles to be made available in PubMed Central.
