EPrints is celebrating its tenth birthday and we invite you to join our birthday party!
Why is EPrints ten years old? Because it does the job for hundreds of repositories around the world and because we have an innovative and imaginative development team constantly improving and extending the functionality of the software.
It can work for your institution, too. We have lots to say, lots to show you - including new plug-ins that extend the software's functionality into new realms (arts and humanities, research assessment, personalisation...) - and plenty of time to answer your questions. In particular, we have EPrints Bazaar to demonstrate. It's like the iPhone App Store - you just click on a plug-in and it is installed for you. As cute as they come!
And we'll be telling success stories and recounting exciting case studies.
Do come and join Les Carr and Alma Swan at the EPrints Showcase on Sunday, 7 November at 3:00pm.

TUESDAY, November 9
The cost of Open Access? Making scholarly research results openly available will benefit your institution, but what would it cost? Attend this workshop at the SPARC 2010 Digital Repositories Meeting to find out.
The “Houghton Report” on the economic implications alternative scholarly publishing models (JISC, 2009) identified significant sectoral savings possible from the adoption of Open Access, but it didn’t address the implications for individual institutions. What is the balance of cost and benefit for research-led institutions? Does the size of an institution alter the projections? What other factors influence the outcome? And how does it work out for your institution? Consultant Alma Swan, from Key Perspectives Ltd, will introduce an economic model at this event to help individual institutions identify the costs and savings involved.
Join us to discover how the figures work out for your own particular institution. Registered participants will be asked to collect specific data in advance so that they may build customized models and generate, at the workshop, financial projections for their institution with Dr. Swan’s guidance. All data used will be kept confidential to each institutional delegate.
Participation in the economic modeling workshop is free and limited to registered participants of the SPARC 2010 Digital Repositories Meeting. Participation requires collecting data about institutional serials acquisitions by the time of the workshop, but full guidance on how to collect the data needed will be provided to registrants.
(Registration for this event has closed).
