5. Resources for Publishers

Raym Crow is speaking on sustainability planning and best practices at the “Library Publishing Services: Strategies for Success” workshops being held at Georgia Tech, the University of Utah, and Purdue  University in May. The workshops are part of an IMLS-funded project, led by the Libraries and Press at Purdue, to improve the effectiveness of library-based publishing programs. The project’s deliverables, including a survey of library publishing operations and case studies of three specific programs, will be available on the SPARC Campus-based Publishing Resource Center (http://www.arl.org/sparc/partnering/) in June.

More SPARC guides, tools, and links for publishers are available on the SPARC Web site.

This meeting will bring together officials from leading European and international student organizations to discuss how the issue of access to research affects each organization and to create a strategy for getting European students engaged in opening access to the results of research.

Also, the Right to Research Coalition has just released its new Open Access flyer along with a list of top ten ideas for using it, which you can find on the coalition's blog at http://www.righttoresearch.org/blog.
