ARL-CNI Fall Forum Delves into Innovation in Research Libraries
This year’s Fall Forum, sponsored by ARL and the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), gathered more than 200 academic and research library leaders in Washington, DC, on September 27 to explore “Innovation in Research Libraries.” The 2018 Julia C. Blixrud Memorial Lecturer, Bernard Banks, spoke about how leaders can create organizational cultures that support productive risk-taking. A panel of university leaders discussed why libraries need to innovate and a panel of ARL library directors talked about how libraries can encourage innovation. This year’s recipient of the Julia C. Blixrud Scholarship, Justin Fuhr, shared his impressions of the ARL-CNI Fall Forum 2018 in a blog post.
