Research Support Librarian, Tulane University, Rudolph Matas Library of the Health Sciences Tulane University seeks a self-motivated, collaborative, and creative professional for the role of Research Support Librarian (Librarian 2). Based at the Rudolph Matas Library of the Health Sciences, the Research Support Librarian will develop programming and services to inform the Tulane health sciences community on best practices in scholarly communication, including copyright, open access, alternative publishing models, and open educational resources. In collaboration with colleagues at the library and other relevant campus offices, the Librarian will work with individual faculty, department chairs, institute directors, and school deans to analyze the impact of Tulane research and uses a team-based approach to help raise the profile of Tulane’s research output. The Research Support Librarian is a key member of the Research and Instruction Team at the Tulane libraries. This position works closely with scholarly engagement librarians on the Uptown campus and other colleagues to provide consultations and other research services. The incumbent collaborates with students and faculty on systematic reviews and provides training in the use of relevant databases and research software. This position serves as liaison to one or more departments in the School of Medicine or School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. The position works closely with other staff to influence and achieve our collective goals in support of the university’s research, clinical, and educational mission.
