The School of Information at San Jose State University is recruiting for a full time (non tenure track)  lecturer with a focus on Information Retrieval System Design. Qualifications: A Master’s or doctoral degree in Library and Information Science, or a closely related field, and at least three years of professional applied experience. Applied experience outside of academic settings is preferred. Deeply enthusiastic about 100% online learning. An awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience. Responsibilities: Teach four 100% online courses each Fall and each Spring in the area of information retrieval systems. The focus will be on our required core course INFO 202 Course:  Information Retrieval System Design Advise online graduate students Engage in the school’s curriculum development Take a leadership role in engaging students with professional associations at the local, national and international level Demonstrate awareness and experience understanding the needs of a student population of great diversity in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation.
