The National Agricultural Library (NAL) has an open job opportunity for a
Technical Information Specialist (Nutrition) in the Information Products Division, Beltsville, MD. The position is located in the Information and Customer Services Branch
This is a term, time limited appointment with an initial duration of no less than 13 months and can be extended up to a total of 4 years. The position is open to Career transition (CTAP, ICTAP, and RPL) and the public.
This position serves as a nutrition specialist in the Nutrition and Food Safety Program supporting the
www.nutrition.gov, and the
Food and Nutrition Information Center Web sites. We are seeking a professional with experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and projects related to nutrition; and organizing and disseminating technical information on food and nutrition to the public.
Major Duties:
• As a specialist in the area of nutrition, participates in the formulation and development of the Nutrition and Food Safety Program (NFSP) policies, programs and operations.
• Participate in the development and management of the library collection in the specialized fields relating to food and human nutrition.
• Ensure all information shared with the public over the internet is appropriate, timely and accurate.
• Manage reference services for the food and nutrition program, including the use of online reference systems such as Ref Tracker or other systems
This is a GS-12 TERM position.
Travel is not required.
