The Oklahoma State University Library seeks a creative faculty member to lead the William E. Brock Memorial Library at the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). We desire someone with a passion for learning and teaching who is eager to collaborate with CVM colleagues, innovate, and take on challenges. The Veterinary Medicine Librarian is a member of the OSU Library faculty reporting to the Associate Dean for Special Collections. This is a tenure-track position with anticipated initial appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The College of Veterinary Medicine is active with both research and outreach, and this position offers many opportunities for a faculty member to be involved with the exciting work that the CVM is doing. For more details on recent innovations, breakthroughs, and community outreach, candidates can view the 2019 issue of Vet Cetera.Responsibilities: As the Veterinary Medicine Librarian, you will provide administrative oversight of the CVM Library. In addition to undertaking traditional library responsibilities such as reference, instruction, resource selection, and orientation, we seek an individual who can work collaboratively with faculty and staff, support faculty in managing data and professional profiles using Symplectic Elements, and demonstrate the advantages of open access resources to members of the CVM community. The successful candidate will also develop creative projects and services that reflect priorities adopted by the OSU Libraries and its three professional campus branch libraries; supervise one full-time staff and student assistants; and develop and administer the CVM Library budget.Required Qualifications include: a masters or doctorate in library or information science or other relevant disciplines; a minimum of three years relevant professional library experience; a demonstrated commitment to public and reference service; exceptional core competencies including leadership, communication, and organization; a record of research, publications, presentations, or service to the profession; and strong reference and analytical skills.You will be offered acompetitive salary (minimum $60,000 annually) for this 12-month position and a benefits package, including a generous holiday schedule and leave accrual.
