Research Librarian

Research Librarian – Atlanta or Washington, D.C. Responsibilities: Perform background research on entertainers, celebrities, athletes, and other notables who might be used in advertising the client’s products Respond to client requests for information or questions by searching printed or online databases Discover hard-to-locate assets; routinely conduct searches based on client criteria Locate information, often of a specialized or technical nature, from a wide variety of published and unpublished sources and electronic databases Perform the following types of research: scientific, legal, marketing, literature, trademark, and patent Analyze content of findings/data Assist in-house marketing team with librarian-specific collateral and/or blog and other social media posts Perform talent sourcing research in LinkedIn Requirements: Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution Curious nature with interest in popular culture Skilled at conducting on-going tracking and summarizing of articles and other selected sources for pertinent information related to topical news sites Demonstrated ability to analyze information, synthesize information and prepare reports Experience searching news aggregators such as Factiva or Nexis Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience with records management and retention schedules a plus Experience as a Law librarian preferred Experience using WordPress, SharePoint, and Microsoft Access a plus
