The NC State University Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Director for Organizational Design, Equity, & Talent. The Libraries’ human resources (HR) programs support and enable our success by providing effective systems and processes to recruit, employ, develop, and retain a diverse and highly talented staff. This position manages two Librarians, two HR Specialists, and three Administrative/Program Support Specialists. This position reports to the Senior Vice Provost and Director of Libraries. Responsibilities: The Associate Director for Organizational Design, Equity, & Talent provides vision and leadership for a comprehensive and strategic human resources program for the Libraries. The Associate Director has administrative responsibility for the design, development, deployment, and measurement of talent acquisition and programs that facilitate professional development and continuous learning of employees across the organization, including onboarding, employee training and development, leadership and management development, succession planning, performance management, change management, and employee engagement initiatives. They advance and provide leadership for a wide range of equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. They also oversee the Libraries Fellows program, a nationally renowned post-masters residency. They serve on the University’s HR Advisory Committee and represent the Libraries in regional and national forums. As a member of the Libraries’ senior administrative team, the Associate Director participates in library planning, policy development, resource allocation, and personnel management and serves as a Directors Council liaison to a variety of committees and task forces. NC State University librarians are expected to be active professionally and to contribute to developments in the field.
