TITLE: Associate Librarian -- Electronic Resources Librarian (Open Rank) RESPONSIBILITIES: Tenure track Associate Librarian. Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Resources Management, Collections and Library Systems, the Electronic Resources Librarian (ERL) provides leadership in developing, delivering, maintaining, and assessing the Library's collection of electronic resources by working cooperatively with designated staff. Responsible for implementing and managing electronic resource management applications, including but not limited to Alma, in a collegial and team environment. This includes upgrades in addition to creating and maintaining statistical reports for the Libraries' electronic resources. The ERL must be able to gain a broad understanding of the TTU Libraries electronic collection and the ability to evaluate that collection as well as any potential purchases, in objective and user-centered ways. The Electronic Resources Librarian must also keep abreast of developments in electronic resources to maintain current awareness of information tools and technology to meet the needs of students, faculty, staff, and community users of Texas Tech University Libraries. The incumbent is also expected to engage in scholarly pursuit and other professional activities in accordance with Texas Tech Library's standards for promotion and tenure. This person may be asked to serve on library teams. If so, they can expect an average of up to 20% of their work time dedicated to the team. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, and university is expected. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program. Preferred: - Minimum six years professional experience in an academic library, thorough knowledge of electronic resources licensing, library systems ejournal management modules, OpenURL resolvers, data collection systems, and administrative functions of proprietary databases. - Has the ability to collect, analyze, manipulate, and provide meaningful interpretation of data using spreadsheets, data visualization tools and other online assessment tools. - Candidate must have a strong customer service orientation with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and respond to administrative/management issues and technical challenges. They must be able to work in a team-based environment with all levels of staff. - Candidate must have awareness of technology trends, issues, and accepted practices in areas of responsibility, including a technical aptitude to learn new products and grasp new techniques quickly. - Additionally, must have demonstrated organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. - Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. SALARY AND BENEFITS: The position is a 12-month appointment with a nationally competitive salary.
