Job Summary:

The Creative Spaces and Services’ Coordinator for Technology Lending facilitates the efficient operation and assessment of services related to the onboarding, maintenance, vending, and inventory of and support for use of items in the Libraries’ technology lending program. The Coordinator serves as a proactive ambassador for the Libraries and University providing extraordinary customer experiences for the UTA community, guests, partners, and colleagues within a dynamic, high-volume, 24/7 environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Libraries’ technology lending program including onboarding of devices into Alma; maintenance, vending, and inventory management of, and support for use of items in the Libraries’ technology lending program.
  • Maintains close working relationships with the Library Systems and Technology and Community Engagement departments within the Libraries to collaboratively develop and execute workflows for reimaging, inventory, and circulation of technology.
  • Evaluates statistics and reports to make data-driven decisions for the continual improvement of the lab.
  • Collaborates with Creative Spaces and Services leadership to hire, train, and supervise 10+ student employees within the department as well as develop and implement policies and procedures related to technology lending.
  • Oversees effective scheduling of student employees throughout each semester, including training, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
  • Serves as a backup for student employees to ensure adequate staffing of the space and services.
  • Engages in cross-departmental strategic, communication and functional task forces within University Libraries.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two (2) years related experience.
  • Experience with maintenance of functional technologies, such as laptops and tablets, as well as creative technologies, such as digital cameras and embroidery machines.
  • Previous experience with circulation services and inventory processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of related experience with one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Experience developing and implementing policies related to technology lending
  • Previous teaching experience, demonstrating the use of multiple teaching methodologies
  • Experience with current and emerging technologies and their applications in academic libraries and how knowledge of how they apply across disciplines
  • Experience designing instructional/informational materials, both in print and online
  • Experience with outreach and marketing services to students and faculty
