Catalog Maintenance Associate
The Catalog Maintenance Associate position in Bibliographic Initiatives is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to impact the Libraries’ mission to promote discoverability and accessibility to resources for learning and research at Ohio State. Under the direction of the Catalog/Authorities Librarian, this position resolves problems in bibliographic records, individually or by using batch processes, as identified in local system reports and those supplied by the authorities vendor; verifies access points using existing authority records; performs other catalog maintenance (corrections to bibliographic and item records) according to local practice, and coordinates with other Libraries departments as needed; maintains documentation; attends and participates in workshops, meetings, and committees; consistently demonstrates commitment to our values and promotes an organizational culture of Discovery, Connection, Equity, Integrity, and Stewardship (https://library.osu.edu/strategic-directions) as well as dedication to advance the work of Bibliographic Initiatives. All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certificate
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel (or equivalent document and spreadsheet software)
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience with cataloging or other relevant library experience
- Reading knowledge of a language other than English
Pay Range
The posting range for this position is $19.52 to $21.64 an hour.
