Data Services Librarian, Health Sciences Library Services

The University at Buffalo Libraries seek a creative, collaborative, and self-motivated individual to provide research data management support to faculty, students, and researchers in the health sciences. The Data Services Librarian is a user-centered individual who will partner with researchers to evaluate data planning needs and assess options for sharing data. This individual will play a key role in providing direction for research data management services in the University Libraries. The scope of responsibilities for this position includes providing support for researchers to meet the requirements of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Data Management and Sharing Plan Mandate as well as the NIH Public Access Policy. The individual in this role will also be responsible for providing education to a variety of parties in best practices for research data management. The Data Services Librarian will be a part of the Health Sciences Library Services (HSLS) team, serving the research and education needs of faculty, staff, students, and researchers of the five Health Sciences Schools located across the three University at Buffalo campuses. This individual will also collaborate with the Scholarly Communication Team as well as the Institutional Repository Team to develop and promote robust and cohesive research data services. This is a two-year, renewable faculty appointment with rank leading to tenure in an academic research-oriented environment with expectations for research, publication and service.
