D’Angelo Law Library Collection Maintenance Supervisor

Invoice processing
- Process subscription and renewal invoices.
- Review all invoices submitted for payment.
- Resolve issues with suppliers regarding payment and/or delivery of materials.
- Coordinates with the Library Fiscal department to address payment concerns.
Serials maintenance
- Establish serial receiving for new serial titles in the library system.
- Maintain complete and accurate holdings for all serials.
- Claim missing material as needed.
- Resolve complex problems related to serials receiving and maintenance.
- Processes cancellations including communication to suppliers and updating records in the library system.
Collection maintenance
- Hires, trains, and supervise approximately 20 hours of student workers.
- Oversees labeling activities, pocket and pocket part filing, and the shelving and disposition of replacement volumes.
- Oversees binding activities including communication with our commercial binder.
- Handles additional preservation needs of the collection.
Electronic resources access and maintenance
- Assist with the workflow of establishing access to new electronic resources.
- Troubleshoot access issues to purchased electronic resources.
- Collect usage statistics.
Other
- Maintain accurate statistics related to collection growth and maintenance.
- Prepare and update documentation of department procedures.
- Participate in D’Angelo meetings, planning, and other collegial activities.
- Regularly collaborates and corresponds with appropriate library staff as needed.
- May supervise union and/or student employees.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- A college or university degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Word processing, spreadsheet, and other office and communication software.
Preferred Competencies
- Familiarity with the organization of library collections and/or serials publication.
- Familiarity with legal publications.
- Experience with a library services platform.
- Ability to communicate clearly and with courtesy both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and organize complex workflows.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Flexibility and adaptability in managing tasks to meet changes in procedures, processes, and technology.
Working Conditions
- Ability to push/pull loaded book trucks.
- Ability to make repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movements.
- Ability to see, including color, depth perception, or clarity; must be able to visually focus on print and electronic material for long periods.
- Ability to sit for 4 hours or more.
- Ability to stand for up to 4 hours.
- Ability to use computers extensively for 4 hours or more.
