The Mass Communication Librarian supports teaching and learning by teaching the information literacy concepts and promoting the understanding of the information ecosystem; uses discipline-specific expertise with mass communication sources to support research; develops relationships with faculty and staff to foster scholarly connections and collaboration; promotes the library's role within mass communication departments and other units on campus; and advances librarianship with service, scholarship, and innovative practice. Job Responsibilities: 70% Serves as selector and subject specialist liaison for a range of disciplines within an academic college, school, department or program. Provides specialized outreach, instruction, and services to faculty and students in those disciplines. Advocates for use of library services and resources. Seeks department and campus partnerships and collaborations. Develops discipline specific Web pages and other internet-based materials, such as tutorials and subject, topic, and course guides. 10% Provides reference and information services at the Research Help Desk and library instruction for general library instruction sessions. Participates in library outreach and programming events. May work nights and weekends in rotation, as needed. 15% Works to meet research and service requirements for promotion and tenure. 5% Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Master's (MLIS, MLS) degree from an ALA-accredited program   Special Instructions: A copy of your transcript(s) may be attached to your application (if available).
