The Administrative Division of the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Inc., Ardmore, Oklahoma, is seeking a manager of the Library & Information Services department, which provides comprehensive resources, education, tools and services in support of the research library and information management needs of the Noble Foundation.

The responsibilities include management of technical and access library services, daily operations, budgetary and long-term planning, and direct supervision of personnel including professional and support staff involved in cataloging, circulation, acquisitions, records maintenance, data curation, and digital asset management.


Bachelor degree in library science, information science or other data-intensive discipline, or other 4-year degree with comparable experience required

8 years full-time experience in a research, academic, and/or medical library required, or 12 years fulltime experience with an unrelated degree; experience with structure and management of an online catalog required; experience with OCLC, original cataloging using MARC, and managerial experience preferred

The ideal candidate will have library and information management experience plus wide-ranging skills including the ability to communicate with stakeholders about their needs and available services, develop strategy in line with stakeholder needs, manage and develop personnel, create and present training, budget to ensure needed services and resources are available, and provide administration of library systems, as well as have a thorough understanding of LC Classification System, LC Subject Headings and MARC records.

The Library & Information Services group has a newly-created data management program and a strategy to effectively implement digital asset and data management services. The selected candidate should be technically proficient and familiar with concepts related to data management including data curation, metadata standards, ontologies, and the related processes. Knowledge of digital asset management techniques is preferred.
