Texas Tech University has appointed Bella Karr Gerlich as professor and dean of university libraries, effective March 1, 2015. Gerlich currently serves as dean of libraries at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, a position she has held since 2011. As dean of libraries at Texas Tech, Gerlich will succeed Donald Dyal, who retired on August 29, after 13 years as dean. Earnstein Dukes is serving as interim dean of libraries.
