The first Monday in September is commonly celebrated as Labor/Labour Day.
The fight to improve conditions at the worksite didn’t happen by sheer benevolence from industrialists, it happened as a result of workers, primarily in manufacturing industries, becoming exhausted from working 70+ hours per week, and other concerns about the exploitation of children at the worksite.
ARL honors the significance of this important day by sharing the blog posts and digital/library resources from member institutions that call attention to the Labor/Labour Holiday.
