Advancing Diversity, Inclusion, and Equality: University of Southern California

by Catherine Quinlan | Dean of Libraries | on March 1, 2016

The USC provost has issued a number of memos on the subject of diversity/student unrest. The library is starting a program called “see yourself in your libraries.” Our first program is in partnership with USC’s El Centro Chicano. The provost has asked each academic unit to have a diversity liaison (essentially responsible for providing relevant input to the hiring process) and a diversity officer (more widespread responsibilities). He has also started a series of Campus Climate Open Forums that have been very well attended.
