ARL Library Liaison Supervisors Meeting
Monday, February 12, 2018 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
More than 10 ARL libraries have hosted local versions of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Liaison Institute since the initial ARL Pilot Library Liaison Institute in 2015. Have these institutes, which are designed to introduce strategies for increased liaison engagement with faculty and other university researchers, achieved their objectives? Are librarians shifting to new ways of working with researchers and with each other? Which aspects of the institutes are succeeding, and which need further attention? Join other liaison supervisors and senior library leaders at the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting 2018 for a panel discussion featuring senior colleagues who have hosted ARL Liaison Institutes and will share lessons learned and key observations.
If you are a director, associate university librarian, and/or liaison supervisor at an ARL member library, please join us for this free event on Monday, February 12, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel Denver in the Cottonwood Ballroom to hear observations and recommendations from colleagues who have recently hosted an ARL Liaison Institute.
Panelists will include:
Jessica Clemons, Associate University Librarian for Research, Education, and Outreach, University at Buffalo
Don Gilstrap, Dean of Libraries, University of Alabama
Marcy Simons, Organizational Development Librarian, Hesburgh Libraries, University of Notre Dame
Steve Witt, Associate Professor; Director, Center for Global Studies; and Head, International and Area Studies Library, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Please RSVP online using this form by January 26, 2018. You do not need to register for the ALA Midwinter Meeting to participate in this session.
