SPEC Survey Webcast on Collection Assessment
Wednesday, October 12, 2016 @ 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm
The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is offering a series of free webcasts that present the findings from the latest SPEC surveys and allow webcast participants to discuss trends with the survey authors. A 45-minutes webcast will follow the publication of each SPEC Kit in 2016.
The next webcast in this series will cover the Collection Assessment survey (SPEC Kit 352), which explores how collection assessment methods, measures, and practices are currently employed and how the results are used at ARL member libraries.
The Collection Assessment webcast will review survey findings reported by ARL member libraries in May 2016. The survey authors will:
- provide a snapshot of collection assessment activities undertaken by ARL member libraries;
- describe the methods and tools used to evaluate or assess collections;
- detail the extent of human resources involved in gathering and analyzing data about their collections; and
- review some of the challenges and recommended changes elicited from respondents.
The webcast will also include a discussion of promising trends and conclude with a question-and-answer session. Read the freely available SPEC Kit 352 in advance and have your questions ready.
