Alan Grosenheider Appointed Interim University Librarian for University of California, Santa Barbara

The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) has named Alan Grosenheider interim university librarian, effective August 1, 2024. Kristin Antelman retired as university librarian at the end of July after serving in the role for six years.

Alan has served as deputy university librarian at UCSB since August 2012 and was acting university librarian from June 2017 to April 2018. Prior to going to UCSB, he held roles of increasing responsibility in the libraries of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and the University of Washington. He earned a BA in philosophy with minors in psychology and history from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, a master’s in library and information science from the University of Washington, and a master’s in human resource management from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
