The 2025 ARL President’s Institute Task Force requests expressions of interest from employees of ARL member institutions to serve on the 2025 Julia C. Blixrud Scholarship Selection Committee. The scholarship, which includes free registration for the President’s Institute and US$1,000, is given annually to an MLIS student or early-career librarian who demonstrates strong potential to contribute to the profession and exhibits evidence of being a creative thinker who is passionate about the President’s Institute topic. The topic of the 2025 President’s Institute is “Ignite Collaboration: Thriving Multigenerational Libraries.”
Members of the selection committee will evaluate applications and select a scholarship recipient November 18–December 5, 2024. It is expected that committee members will complete their evaluation of applications individually (two to three hours) and meet once (one hour or less) December 2–5 to deliberate and select the scholarship recipient. There are no financial costs associated with the selection committee for the individual or their institution beyond the outlined time commitment.

About the President’s Institute
The President’s Institute seeks to provide opportunities for participation by ARL member institutions and others in our field each year during the start of the ARL presidency. One of the ARL Institutes, this interactive event convenes a broad community of individuals, subject-matter experts, middle managers, senior leaders, and general executives from ARL libraries and beyond on top-of-mind issues facing research libraries. As part of the President’s Institute, the Julia C. Blixrud Scholarship recipient is selected, attends, and writes a report on the institute to be published by ARL.
