The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Intensive Learning Program (ILP) Task Force has chosen 19 fellows for the 2023 cohort, based on recommendations from the ILP Selection Working Group. The ILP is an eight-month hybrid experience that explores operational aspects of senior leader portfolios in research libraries and archives as well as responsibilities related to managing those portfolios. The ILP strengthens strategic thinking and decision-making skills to ensure effective leadership of research libraries in a time of rapid, continuous change. Through the ARL ILP, fellows will attend virtual monthly educational sessions, virtual small-group coaching sessions, the Fall 2023 ARL Association Meeting, and the ARL Learning Summit.

“The caliber of applicants for this inaugural cohort is simply impressive, with each person bringing a unique set of skills, experiences, and perspectives,” said Doug Way, ILP Selection Working Group member, and dean of libraries and William T. Young Endowed Chair at University of Kentucky. “The collective strengths of this cohort will no doubt mean a transformative experience for not only these leaders, but also their institutions and the broader research library community.”
