Beth McNeil Named Dean of Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies

Purdue University has appointed Beth McNeil as dean of Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies, effective July 1, 2019. McNeil currently serves as dean of library services at Iowa State University. Previously she was associate dean at Purdue in 2007–2015. She was also an ARL Leadership Fellow in 2013–2015.

McNeil will succeed Dean of Libraries Emeritus and Esther Ellis Norton Professor Emeritus Jim Mullins, who retired December 31, 2017 (see page 3 of PDF), after serving as dean for 13 years. Rhonda Phillips has been serving as interim dean since January 1, 2018.
