Beth McNeil Named Esther Ellis Norton Professor of Library Science for Purdue University

The Purdue University Board of Trustees has ratified the appointment of Beth McNeil, dean of Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies, as the Esther Ellis Norton Professor of Library Science.

McNeil has served as dean at Purdue since July 2019. She was previously dean of library services at Iowa State University (2015–2019) and associate dean of libraries at Purdue (2007–2015).

McNeil is active in the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), serving on the ARL Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (2015–2019, chair 2018–2019) and the ARL Academy Advisory Committee (2018–2019). She was also an ARL Leadership Fellow in 2013–2015.
