The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has appointed Chris Bourg as director of libraries, effective in February 2015. Bourg currently serves as associate university librarian for public services at Stanford University Libraries, where she has worked for 12 years. As director of libraries at MIT, Bourg will succeed Ann Wolpert, who died in October 2013, after 17 years as director. Steven Gass, associate director for research and instructional services, has been serving as interim director.
