Gerald Beasley Named University Librarian at Cornell University

Cornell University has appointed Gerald R. Beasley as the Carl A. Kroch University Librarian, effective August 1, 2017. Beasley is currently vice-provost and chief librarian at the University of Alberta. He participated in the ARL Research Library Leadership Fellows program in 2004–2006.

At Cornell, Beasley will succeed Anne R. Kenney, who stepped down March 31, 2017, and will retire after a six-month research leave. Kenney led the library since 2008.
