David Seaman Named University Librarian, Dean of Libraries at Syracuse

Syracuse University has appointed David Seaman as university librarian and dean of university libraries, effective August 3, 2015. Seaman is currently associate librarian for information management at Dartmouth College and was an ARL leadership fellow in the 2011–2012 cohort. At Syracuse, he will succeed Suzanne Thorin, who stepped down June 30, 2013, after eight years in the position. The director of the library’s Copyright and Information Policy Office, K. Matthew Dames, has served as interim dean of libraries and university librarian since July 1, 2013.
