H. Carton Rogers III Endowed Position Established by University of Pennsylvania

The University of Pennsylvania (Penn) Libraries Board of Overseers and the libraries’ Orrery Society Council have established, with a $3 million gift, the endowed H. Carton Rogers III Vice Provost and Director of Libraries position at Penn. The position bears the name of the current vice provost and director, whose 43-year career with the Penn Libraries will conclude with his retirement in June 2018.  

Rogers has served as the vice provost and director of libraries at Penn since 2004. He was an ex officio member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Board of Directors in 2010–2013 as chair of the Transforming Research Libraries Committee.
