Vanderbilt University has appointed Hilary A. Craiglow interim university librarian effective July 1, 2021. Craiglow has led the Walker Management Library at Vanderbilt for more than a decade and has served as interim associate university librarian for scholarly resources and services for two years.

Before joining Vanderbilt in 2006, Craiglow worked for Questia Media, a digital library service, where she developed search and online marketing strategies. Her previous positions have included working in a knowledge management center at an R&D facility and directing a regional library in Texas.

Craiglow earned a bachelor of arts in human development from Antioch College and a master of library and information science from The University of Texas at Austin.

Craiglow will serve as interim university librarian while Vanderbilt searches for a successor to Valerie Hotchkiss, who stepped down on June 30, 2021, having served as university librarian and professor of English since 2016.
