Jisc LAMP Project to Illuminate Library Data

Earlier this year Jisc, along with Mimas (at University of Manchester) and University of Huddersfield, launched the Library Analytics and Metrics Project (LAMP) in the UK. LAMP aims to enable libraries to capitalize on the many types of data they capture in day-to-day activities, using the data to support the improvement and development of services and to demonstrate value and impact in new ways.

LAMP is developing a prototype of a shared library-analytics service for UK academic libraries. Initially this is envisioned as a “data dashboard,” bringing together disparate data sets and visualizing them in an attractive and meaningful way. The project runs until December 2013, when it will deliver the prototype service for use by the community.
