The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is pleased to announce the hosts for the Kaleidoscope Program site visits for 2024–2026. The 2024 site visit will be hosted by the University of Manitoba Libraries and the University of Saskatchewan Library. The 2025 site visit will be hosted by the University of Calgary Libraries and Cultural Resources and the University of Saskatchewan Library. The 2026 site visit will be hosted by the University of Colorado Boulder University Libraries.
The site visit is one of two signature events included in the curriculum of the Kaleidoscope Program, a two-year commitment that aims to prepare BIPOC graduate students for purposeful and consequential careers in research libraries and archives through enriched leadership development and community building opportunities. The site visit explores the research library and archive environment, professional roles, and activities.
“The University of Manitoba Libraries are very excited to host the Kaleidoscope Program in 2024 for the first time on Treaty 1 Territory and the National Homeland of the Red River Metis,” said Lisa O’Hara, vice provost (Libraries) & university librarian, University of Manitoba. “With support from the University of Saskatchewan Library, we look forward to sharing a rewarding learning experience with an outstanding group of emerging leaders.”
